World Heritage Sites
It has been a huge privilege to not only visit a large
number of World Heritage Sites, but also to have had
the opportunity to work on several of the key British
sites and emerging sites. This selection of photographs
is a mixture of pseudo-iconic views and random jottings
St Petersburg in Russia has been a World Heritage Site since
1990 and contains a significant number of exceptional buildings.
One of these is the Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood,
constructed on the site of the assassination of Tsar Alexander II.
The church has not been reconsecrated since its restoration but
is open as a museum of mosaics, which festoon all walls and nooks
and crannies in flamboyance (1990)
