As an all round natural historian, Simon Davey has a lively interest in several insect groups. He has run a UV light trap in his garden recording the moths that were attracted to it. He also attends Sussex Moth Group events when members meet to use UV traps powered by generators in various parts of the County. Although prepared to undertake survey work using his trap and generator, Simon Davey’s main interest is in insect photography. As well as Lepidoptera, Simon Davey takes an interest in, and photographs, Odonata (Dragonflies), Orthoptera (Grasshoppers and Crickets), Syrphidae (Hoverflies).
