The 2006 Season Statistics

The key statistics for Point-to-Pointing in 2006 remained sound and reflect an important sport in good health. For instance,

  • There were 210 scheduled meetings (200 took place)
  • There were 118 courses
  • 943 Riders Certificates were issued (of which 182 riders had never ridden in Points before)
  • The average field size was 8.16 runners (up from 8.4)
  • 3,841 Hunter Certificates were issued (3,981 in 2005)

  • 41% of scheduled 2006 fixturs took place on Sundays
  • On average, each horse was entered 8.42 times
  • 57.66% of runners completed the course
