As you will be aware for the first time we started the new season in December (06), with 5 meetings being staged throughout the month. The organisers of these meetings are to be applauded for their willingness to extend the Point-to-Point programme and it goes without saying that they are grateful for your support in making this initiative work. So if you have registered your Hunter Certificate at Weatherbys and/or received your Riders Qualification Certificate I hope that you got the chance to enter / ride at one if not a few of the meetings. (Please see “General News” with regard to applying for an RQC.

As always, and despite our ethos of trying to keep the sport as straightforward as possible, there are a number of Regulation changes for 2006/7. The amendments appear in bold in this years Regulations book which you should receive when you register your Hunter Certificate at Weatherbys or receive your Riders Qualification Certificate from the Point-to-Point Department.
We have regular policy-related meeting with PPORA and the Point-to-Point Secretaries Association during the course of a year and all changes are approved by the Jockey Club Regulatory Board in June/July.
Should you like to add your input to the above process or indeed raise any other matter in the Regulations book then please drop me a line at the address above or call Lucy Brack or myself on 0207 189 3856 and 0207 189 3852 respectively. You can also contact the Secretary to the Point-to-Point Secretaries Association (PPSA), Lucy Brack or, of course, Simon Claisse as your Chairman. We always welcome your feedback.
