How to Join Membership Benefits
In 2007 the PPORA is continuing the existing benefit schemes available to all members. DO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM.
RACECOURSE REDUCED ADMISSION SCHEME
The Racecourse Reduced Admission Scheme is now in its eighth year, and we are pleased to say that all courses are keen to continue their support for it. The only adverse comment we do get is that not enough of our members take advantage of it. Each year the number of courses that give an increased discount to the previous year grows and now five courses, Ayr, Folkestone, Lingfield, Newbury and Worcester are operating the scheme on nearly all National Hunt days, whether there is a hunters chase or not. In fact, Newbury will even give the discount on pre-booked tickets on Flat days. Also currently and until the end of 2007 there are no admission charges at Towcester excepting Boxing Day and Easter Sunday.
The scheme will be operating on over 150 racedays in 2007. PPORA members will be given reduced admission of £2 per member per raceday or more if stated against the list of fixtures available (see below), but are reminded that they need to present their photograph Membership Card and voucher.
Any Member can claim this discount as many times as he or she wishes.
Action required NOW!
Renew your membership now! For those of you who already have a PHOTOGRAPHED section from previous years, you do not need a new photo, only the membership card will be changed. But if you did not join the scheme before, all you have to do is send a passport-sized photo with your membership application form to The Secretary in good time. Do please check the dates and discount offered before you go, the discounts are more varied than in previous seasons.
Note: Life Members will also need a photo section to their Membership to use the scheme.
Action required on racedays when the scheme operates
When PPORA Members are visiting a racecourse on a day when the Scheme is operating, they will need to go to the appropriate gate (mainly Club Members) and request the PPORA discount. They will be asked to show their Membership Card and to hand in a voucher. These vouchers will be sent out with Membership Cards and all that is required is to fill in the date of the meeting and the racecourse name in the box on each voucher. Once all the vouchers have been used more can be requested by contacting our Secretary.
Dates when the scheme is to operates
Listed below is a list of dates when the Scheme will be available to Members. Unless stated under 'special conditions', all courses will give a £2.00 discount on advertised prices to their Members' or equivalent Enclosure. Please note, five courses - Ayr (not Scottish Grand National
Day), Folkestone Newbury, Lingfield and Worcester - are operating the Scheme on all National Hunt days, whether a hunterchase is being held or not.

LOOK OUT FOR ENTRY FEE SPLIT
Organisers have been given the flexibility to split the entry fee and make a charge at entry and a charge at the declaration stage. Where there is a split charge you will find your initial entry is likely to be lower than usual but do remember you will need some means of payment at declaration for the second fee (plastic is unlikely to be acceptable!)
