AGM and 30th Annual Award Lunch
Friday 25th May 2007
Our 30th Annual Award Lunch will be held at Stratford Racecourse on Friday, 25th May, 2007.
We are delighted that our Speaker for our 30th Anniversary is Champion Jump Trainer, Paul Nicholls, who broke the record for the prize money won in a season when his horses amassed £2.95 million in 2006/07.
Paul, on leaving school, started out as a point-to-point rider with Dick Baimbridge, nr Berkeley, Gloucestershire and went on to twice ride the winner of the Hennessey Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury. He partnered 130 winners between 1980 and 1989.
He has been training at Manor Farm Stables in Ditcheat, Somerset since taking out a licence on November 1st, 1991 and made history when he became the first trainer to saddle six winners on the same card at Wincanton, his local track on Saturday, 21st January 2006.
To date, during this season, Paul has had 502 runners, 117 winners, which included 6 out of 6 for Kauto Star.
The Annual Lunch is again being held at Stratford Racecourse on Friday, 25th May following the Annual General Meeting and prior to evening racing making a great day out!
Money raised at the lunch will be shared equally between Paul's chosen charity and The Injured Jockeys Fund.
We can also offer, through the generosity of Stratford Racecourse, discounted badges for racing on both Friday evening, for the Weatherbys Chase Novices' Hunters' Steeple Chase and also for the Saturday evening, for the 49th running of the Pertemps Cup Champion Hunters' Steeple Chase (for the Horse & Hound Cup), to those attending the lunch.
We normally expect around 400 people, do come and join us!
Tickets priced £37.50 can be obtained from Jeanette Dawson, PPORA, The Coach House, 7 Mill Road, Sturry, Canterbury, Kent CT2 0AJ. Telephone (01227) 713080
