What is Mesotherapy?
Originally a medical technique devised in 1952 by Frenchman Dr Michel Pistor to treat
conditions such as Rheumatology, Sports Traumatology, infectious diseases and vascular
diseases and to improve circulation, Mesotherapy has subsequently proved extremely
successful in the treatment of cellulite. Inch loss can also be effectively managed with
the use of Mesotherapy.
The treatment stimulates the mesoderm, which is the layer of fat under the skin, which in
turn helps to disperse the cellulite.
How does Mesotherapy
work?
Mesotherapy involves injecting small amounts of homeopathic medicine immediately
beneath the surface of the skin.
Mesotherapy melts the fat in the skin and breaks up the network of connective tissue
fibers that form trapping fat cells and resulting in cellulite.
The fat dissolves and, as occurs when fat is broken down during typical weight loss, is
carried through the bloodstream and excreted by kidneys and bowel.
How long do the
treatments last?
Each treatment lasts about ten minutes . After the treatment you can return to normal
activities.
Treatment may be carried out immediately after an initial consultation, at which point
you will be informed as to how many treatments you will require.
Injections are given once a week over a period of 10 to 20 weeks.
What results
should I expect?
The treatment is long-lasting and the results are measurable. When the desired effects are
attained, all that is required is annual maintenance over a 4-6 week period.
Superb results can be achieved and those being treated look and feel better both during
and after treatment. Overall, with a moderate amount of lifestyle change, Mesotherapy can
produce dramatic improvements with people losing up to 2cm from the circumference of their
thighs after only 6 sessions.
Are there any side
effects?
A common side effect of mesotherapy is bruising, which generally resolves after a week.
