How does SmartLipo work?

The SmartLipo laser provokes the breaking up of the membranes of the adipose cells, transforming them into an oily substance that is absorbed and eliminated in a natural manner. The results give rise to a harmonious body shape in a short time, without the secondary effects of more aggressive procedures.

SmartLipo offers the chance to carry out minimally invasive liposculpture treatments (the cannulas have a diameter of only 1 mm), in a decidedly less traumatic manner compared to traditional techniques.

What are the advantages of SmartLipo?

::  Reduced recovery times and less constrictive bandaging
::  Reduced trauma compared to traditional methods
::  Reduced invasiveness
::  Possibility of treating areas up until now considered as unsuitable for traditional liposuction
     For example: the face, forearms, upper part of the abdomen, and knees
::  Incentive for patients who are not willing to consider day-hospital and an operating theatre
::  Minimum secondary post-operative effects
::  Minimum interference in the patient's social life

What is the advantage of SmartLipo over traditional liposuction?

SmartLipo offers many advantages over traditional liposuction - the procedure can be performed under local anaesthesia in a doctor's office rather than in operating theatre under general anaesthesia. The degree if invasiveness is reduced resulting in a shorter recovery time and with fewer side effects. The procedure has the added benefit of tightening the skin as it destroys the fat cells. It can also be performed on areas, which have previously been considered unsuitable for traditional liposuction, such as the face, forearms, and upper part of the abdomen and knees.

How long does the treatment take?

The length of the treatment depends on how many areas you've having treated, but can take between one and two hours.

Which areas can it tackle?

SmartLipo works best in small areas - double chin, turkey necks, hamster cheeks and jowls, bingo wings, knees, saddlebags, enlarges breast tissues in men, etc. It is ideal for people who are not excessively obese.

Are there any side effects?

Although no surgical procedure is completely risk-free, SmartLipo is extremely safe. Bruising and swelling is kept to a minimum.

How long will it take to see results?

When the fat is left for the body to eliminate, the results are seen gradually over a number of weeks, though it may take up to four months for the maximum effects to be seen. This is because your body continues to process and naturally remove the released fat until none is left.

Is there any downtime?

Downtime is minimal and one can resume normal activities almost immediately, although it is best to avoid vigorous physical activity or sports for one to two weeks. It might be necessary to wear an elasticated compression garment for about a week to help with speeding up the elimination of the free fat. Any swelling and bruising is considerably less than what would be expected with traditional liposuction.
