THAT'S LIFE! GOOD HEALTH
A change in Me"I would cake my face with make-up".
What was I like?
I first developed acne at 18, just when most of my friends were getting over their spotty
stage.
I tried different creams and gels prescribed by my GP, spent a fortune on over-the-counter
products, but nothing seemed to work. It made me feel so depressed and awkward in front of
customers in the health-food shop where I work.
Every time I went out, I'd be moody with all my friends because I couldn't enjoy myself. |

What did I do?
My mum Mary,57, read about a new treatment called NLite.
It eradicates acne by using a
beam of pulsated light, killing bacteria and stimulating healing. She offered to pay for
it for me. I began the treatment in November two years ago - one session a month for
four months. Each took only five minutes and stung a little. But just two weeks after my
first appointment, there was a noticeable difference. And after two treatments, I stopped
caking my face in make-up to hide the acne because it had disappeared.
These days, I love going out and feel free to be myself. I only wish I hadn't wasted four
years of my life hating myself.
