The company applies herbicide to over 70000km of pavements every year for around 50 local authority clients. Most of the contracts are of a term nature which underlines ESS's commitment to building strong working relationships.

The herbicide is applied by a variety of means, mini-tractors, quads, CDA lances or hydraulic knapsacks, and traffic management is provided where necessary.

The weed control arm of ESS also carries out:

• Selective spraying of sports pitches and parklands
• Shrub bed maintenance
• Housing Association contracts
• Work at MOD sites
• Elimination of Japanese knotweed and other noxious weeds
• Tree planting and maintenance contracts
