History of TA Ronan
T. A. Ronan was established as a family business in West London in 1947 by Thomas A. Ronan. On Thomas A. Ronan’s death in 1984 T. A. Ronan & Sons Electrical Contractors Limited commenced trading under the leadership of Tommy Ronan and his sister Bernadette Cowler. After Tommy’s untimely death in 2006, the company continued to move forward under the direction of Bernadette Cowler who built a strong management team.
In April 2010 the management team of John O’Sullivan, Steve Cowler, Ivan Palagitskyy and Pat Carroll completed a management buy out. This new ownership maintains the family ties as John O’Sullivan is a nephew and Steve Cowler a grandson of the founder Thomas A. Ronan. The company continues to move forward with all administrative functions based at the Head Office “RONAN HOUSE” in Askew Road W12.
T. A. Ronan & Co. are members of the Electrical Contractors Association, (ECA), the NICEIC and are represented on the National and Regional Boards of the Joint Industry Board, (JIB) by John O’Sullivan, maintaining the active participation of his cousin, the late Tommy Ronan, who was voted in as the Chairman of the Committee for Cabling and Jointing for the Periods 2001/2002, and 2002/2003 consecutively.
Conscious of the future needs of clients, and our desire to offer a better and more efficient service, we have obtained Third Party Certification in Quality Assurance ISO 9001.2000 and Environmental management systems ISO 14001.2004. We are also Lloyds Accredited under the National Electrical Registration Scheme, and are members of the Achilles UVDB supplier register.
Our turnover is approximately £6 Million per annum and is expanding in a controlled manner, Our staff are a team comprising Qualified Surveyors, Contract Managers, Qualified Engineers, Cable Jointers, Supervisory Foremen and Labourers.
We are generally self sufficient in terms of plant, having an array of lorries, vans and machinery sufficient to cope with the majority of our in house needs, all controlled by our Plant Manager based at the Plant Depot in Denham, Middlesex.
All the activities we undertake are executed under Company control by our experienced and qualified personnel and we have the skill and back-up within our organisation to be able to perform the most demanding of projects efficiently, economically and on schedule.
T. A. Ronan & Co. are happy to undertake any size of contract, and our office based estimating team will endeavour to provide a competitive price based on the specific contract details.
Traditionally T. A. Ronan & Co. has been the contractor to arrive on site, pull, terminate and joint cables quickly, efficiently and cost effectively. In recent years it has become apparent that our clients have demanded more. It is now common for T. A. Ronan & Co. to have active participation from planning stage right through to commissioning. The skills of the personnel now in place at T. A. Ronan & Co. allows us to effectively cover all the demands of modern day contracting.
