Volunteer >

Calling everyone, we need you!

We have various volunteer roles now available, read on for more details.

What's involved?

• You will be helping Hearing Concern LINK reach the people in your community affected by AHL who currently receive little or no help.

• You can help raise awareness of the communication needs of deafened people.

• You can be a role model to deafened people and their families, by demonstration the deafness need not be a barrier to leading a full and normal life.

• You can refer deafened people and their families to other Hearing Concern LINK services and the services of other organisations.

What do I as a volunteer get out of it?

• Personal development.

• New skills.

• Satisfaction in helping others to overcome the barriers caused by the onset of AHL.

How do I become a volunteer?

The first step is to contact us at Hearing Concern LINK and we’ll then send you an application pack with more details of the roles available and an application form. Send us an email at volunteers@hearingconcernlink.org for more information.

Outreach Volunteers have first-hand experience of what it is like to be affected by acquired profound hearing loss. They share coping tactics and communication strategies as well as giving practical assistance with equipment and Disability Living Allowance (or Attendance Allowance) applications - and much more besides. They have a unique understanding of what other people are going through and can offer information about appropriate local and national services.
