Arundel Castle plays a starring role in THE YOUNG VICTORIA, starring Emily Blunt. The Film charts Queen Victoria’s journey to the throne. Arundel's picturesque medieval castle is the backdrop in several key scenes and its wonderful features play stand in for some very famous locations such as the Chapel Royal, St. James’s Palace and St. Georges Hall at Windsor Castle. A Academy Award-winning producer Graham King, who co-produced the movie with Martin Scorsese, said Arundel Castle was one of a group of "wondrous places" chosen as locations during the film shoot.

The Barons` Hall

The Castle has also been used for major features such as:

Henry VIII (Granada TV)
The Big Read (BBC TV)
The Madness of King George (AllAhoo Ltd)
The Prince and the Pauper (BBC TV)
Victoria and Albert (BBC TV)
Great Houses of the South (Meridian TV)

We can provide internal and external settings ranging from Medieval to Victorian.

The best time for filming is when the Castle is closed: before midday during the summer opening season (April - October), Mondays and during the winter months (November - March), although filming is possible when members of the public have access and is generally not a problem. Visitors usually find it an added attraction when famous faces are in front of the camera and do not object to a brief interruption to their tour.

However, disruption must be kept to a minimum and a member of staff will always accompany the crew. The Castle is primarily the family home of the Duke & Duchess of Norfolk and all requests for filming are ultimately decided by them.

Rates for filming are subject to negotiation depending on the size and scale of the production.
