Can you buy perfect skin?
The latest super-duper high-tech salon treatments promise a flawless complexion. Our
beauty gurus find out if they deliver the goodies.
UPTOWN GIRL JEMMA SAYS
'Depending on how much time - and money - you're prepared to invest in your skin, you
really can make the absolute best of what you've got.
The new treatment even out blotches, zap thread veins and scars, and some can even beat
acne. Just for you (it's a tough job...), I decided to try one of the top-notch
treatments that all the beauty editors are raving about'.
THE HIGH-TECH STUFF
'It uses intense pulses of light, targeting trapped blood sitting in veins that caused
those pesky thread veins.
The treatment takes around 20 minutes and it is quite
uncomfortable. It's recommended that you have three to five sessions, depending on
your skin problems.'
DOES IT WORKS?
Yes! After just one session my skin was as soft as a baby's whatsit and the veins
round my nose had vanished. Immediately afterwards, my face felt slightly dry and
was a bit pink (the pigmentation freckles went darker, then disappeared a few days later
as warned).
But I only needed a light-tinted moisturiser (my Max factor Beautiful Skin, £9) rather
than a councillor. No one noticed a thing. You can't have Photorejuvenation if
you've got a tan, as your skin must be its natural colour.'
HOW MUCH?
Treatments start at about £300 each.
