Public art photos

Public art has been commissioned and put in place for
thousands of years, with a view to educate, record,
commemorate or to promote an idea. In the past
few years it has also been used to engage or surprise
the viewer and for this reason it has a value rather
different to that of sculpture, although there is
significant overlap between the two

Blackburn Cathedral, was a combined effort from Stephen
Broadbent and poet Julia Copus incorporating fish motifs

than many public spaces, there are walkways and casual places
for people to sit and share conversations or lunchtime food
