This two centre holiday combines four nights in the Eternal City of Rome, one of the great centres of pilgrimage through the centuries, with five nights beside the medieval walled town of Citta di Castello set amidst the peace and tranquillity of the Umbrian countryside and the ideal base for our touring programme. A comprehensive programme of sightseeing is included featuring all the major sites of Rome. From our second centre we take day excursions to explore hilltop towns which vividly recall the Middle Ages. These include visits to the Assisi of St Francis, Siena and Arezzo, as well as romantic Florence. Our journey is enriched by, amongst others, the great art of Michelangelo, Fra Angelico and Giotto.

This pilgrimage fits neatly into a one-week slot and is therefore ideal for half-term holidays – though you must book early ! The tour is based on five nights in Rome and two nights in St Maria degli Angeli, beside Assisi. This provides ample time for visist in the Italian capital and the opportunity to explore the places assocaietd with the lives of St Francis and St Clare.
