8 day pilgrimage to Jordan

Many pilgrims have made a brief visit to Jordan as part of a longer tour including the Holy Land.  This can prove a little frustrating as the Hashemite Kingdom entices visitors to stay longer and explore more of its wonders.

This tour takes in the principal sites of Jordan with the climax being an extended visit to the rose-red Nabatean city of Petra. There are also visits to the Roman Decapolis city of Jerash, the point from where Moses viewed the Promised Land at Mount Nebo, the ancient mosaic map at Madeba and the recently discovered baptismal site of 'Bethany beyond the Jordan'.

The tour is based in Amman for three nights, Petra for two nights and Aqaba on the Red Sea coast for one night.  Flights are with Royal Jordanian Airlines and we include one internal flight in Jordan.

8 day pilgrimage to Sinai

The Sinai is sacred for Jew, Christian and Muslim.  Over the centuries it has been a place of piety and a focus of pilgrimage. Today most visitors to the Sinai are constrained by time and this tour has been specially designed to provide time to reflect and soak up the atmosphere.  

The Sinai is a spectacular wind-swept desert and mountain landscape where Moses received the Tablets of the Law.  St Catherine's Monastery, built by the Emperor Justinian in 527 AD, is a unique treasure house of Christian art and manuscripts.

We use direct charter flights into Sharm el-Sheikh in the Sinai where we spend one night, with the other six nights based in the heart of the south Sinai mountains at St Catherines village.

11 day pilgrimage to Jordan and Sinai

In recent months this has become one of the most popular pilgrimages that McCabes offer.  As you might expect our 11 day pilgrimage combines the best of both Jordan and Sinai and has the objective of illuminating the pages of the Old Testament.  The range of sites is breathtaking: from Mount Nebo to Petra to Wadi Rum to the summit of Mount Sinai.  For pilgrims who have already had an experience of the Holy Land this is an exciting follow-up tour.

The journey from Aqaba to Nuweiba (in the Sinai) is by high speed catamaran and we include one internal flight in Jordan.  The international flights are with Royal Jordanian Airlines.
