Mobile Communications Unit (MCU)

Introduction

What is an MCU?

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will my staff cope with it?

The MCU is simple to roll out and use:

MCU, flightcased for transportationMCU flightcaseTransportation

All our MCU systems are flight-cased to ensure ease of handling and transportation. Each system is designed for deployment by just two people.

MCU - modular flexibilityFlexible

An MCU can be configured with whatever systems you require. We handle systems MCU example unitintegration, power management, heat flow, transport adaptation. We design MCU modules to be deployed by a team of just two people.

This example unit provides fixed and wireless voice and data services for up to 30 users within a 300 metre radius of the unit. It integrates with public networks via POTS/ISDN2/ADSL. Developed for a UK Ambulance service, it can be fully deployed in fifteen minutes.

Fast Deployment

MCU - fast cabling

All MCU units incorporate our fast deployment cabling system and telco termination points to accept bare wire connections to public networks. Options include custom devices, rack-mounted ISDN2e NTE or Wireless LAN units.

MCU - ISDN connections

We can build in any other special devices you require to ensure your MCU does exactly the job you need it to do, when you need it.

Standard data devices on MCUFamiliar Communications Equipment

Our MCU systems use standard fixed or wireless handsets, data terminals and other devices, ideally the same as you already have in your office. We use standard communications technology, packaged for easy transportation so you can use it wherever you need it.

Power

An MCU may need to be used in unpredictable scenarios, so we build in UPS as standard. Ths enables you to use an MCU on an unreliable or dirty power supply, such as a generator, without worry of damaging the communication systems inside it.

Command & Control

Even an MCU needs engineer access for set-up, management and computer-based services. We include a rack-mounted PC with screen, keyboard and mouse to implement last minute changes during deployment.

Having reviewed the MCU as a concept, you may want to explore how one can be built to suit your particular needs, using your own preferred equipment vendors.

Contact us with details of your requirement and we will arrange to meet with you to discuss developing your very own tailored MCU solution.
